about
turquoise group

Turquoise Group is an Australian clean energy company headquartered in Brisbane, focused as an owner-operator of Turquoise Hydrogen technology.

Turquoise Hydrogen is produced through the decomposition of methane gas into hydrogen gas and solid carbon. This approach is highly energy efficient compared with green hydrogen, is a water-free process and eliminates direct CO and CO2 emissions.

While the hydrogen gas can be sold as a clean fuel, Turquoise Group's key value driver is the continuous production of superior carbon products, including high quality graphene. Graphene is a revolutionary material with the capacity to transform and disrupt established markets and technologies. To date, high manufacturing costs have hindered its widespread use.

Turquoise Group aims to mass produce low-cost, high-quality graphene to unlock its true potential as a substitute feedstock for a wide range of next-generation products.

our
approach

Turquoise Group's cutting-edge technological solution is designed to decompose methane gas (CH4) into its constituent elements, in the form of hydrogen gas (H2) and solid carbon powder (C). In an exclusive partnership with Plenesys, we incorporate the world's first patented 3-phase AC plasma torch, a pivotal component that drives the HyPlasma process. Distinguished by its exceptional energy efficiency in comparison to green hydrogen production, our technology provides a water-free process devoid of direct CO or CO2 emissions.

A fundamental tenet of Turquoise Group's mission is the continuous transformation of solid carbon into superior carbon products, including high-quality graphene.

Our technological solution is inherently modular, affording the flexibility to accommodate varying customer demands. These modular units are conveniently transported within standard 40ft shipping containers and, when powered by renewable electricity sources, boast remarkably low scope 2 emissions. Furthermore, should biomethane be employed as a feedstock, our process can achieve a carbon-negative footprint.

Turquoise Group has successfully secured and established operational offices and facilities in Darra, Queensland. With all requisite approvals firmly in place and key component manufacturing completed, our company is well poised to initiate a comprehensive commercial demonstration program of our modular technology in Q2 2024.
